Gambanan ( One Arm Point ) to Quondong Pt. ( 45klm North of Broome )

The start of another day at Gambanan, which is another Aboriginal community, which has opened some of there land up for camping. The camp site is just before One Arm Point.

The camp set up looks at that sun rise. What a view to look at. They have showers & toilets there. Cold showers only.

Middle Beach (Galbarrnging ) Large undercover area for public use.

Some have table, chairs & a bed.

Some even have a lounge.

The Fish Hatchery is a must go & see. They do feeding of the Barrumndi

The shell  on the right is straight out of the ocean. The shell in the middle has been polished & ready for sale.
 The end shell on the left has also been partly polished for a different effect.

They have different fish, clams, turtles & a touch pool.

This here is Kooljaman Resort & camping area. It is also the place where they don't allow our van which is the Quantum. The reason is that it has full sides. They say it is not a pop up van like the Jayco.

We had a look around & had some lunch.

This here is Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm. The Pearl Farm is the oldest Australian & Family owened pearl farm, operating since 1946 & is still leadingthe industry with the largest pearls in the world.

After spending 3 day at Gambanan, we headed back down to Broome dropping into Chile Creek. This is another place you should have a look at. It is bush camping, with shower & toilets ( HOT water ) The ocean is about 2klm from the camp site. The creek is about 1 klm.
                                     
This couple were heading out in there hire 4wd to the beach & decided to turn around because the sand was to soft. It only cost him $50.00 to get towed out. Should have let some air out of the tyres.

It was nice to do some beach driving.

After we left Chile Creek we drove to Lombadina which is a Aboriginal Communite & there is no camping. Lombadina, set in a picturesque setting with shady mango trees & spreading palms.

These boats were hand made by the Aboriginal men by cutting the tree to the size of the canoe. They would then dig a channel in the timber & burn that section out. They would repeat the process until the canoe was right.

So much for our 4 days at Middle Laggone. In the end we spent 2 week on the Dampier Peninsula. It is a very interesting place to visit. The last place we stayed was Quondong point. We ended up spending 3 days there just relaxing. Our main reason for leaving Quondong Point was that we had ran out of food & water. It was time to hit Broome & stock up.

The Bungle Bungles

Our first night in The Bungle Bungles. What a night

 At the entry to Bungle Bungles we had to pay $30 to drive through Mabel Downs Station to reach Bungle Bungles....because of the cattle situation! (Thanks Julia)

Another not as wide but a bit deeper.   Quantums handling the pressure!

 First walk into Picaninny Gorge through bee hive domes and arriving at the most amazing gorge - Cathedral Gorge.

 Then to The Lookout crossing this section where kids did the Qantas Add....remember!!

Sad to leave but we all had 5 great days.
