Day 2 Passed through Emerald, Alpha, Jericho, Barcaldine. The tree of knowledge has great timber chimes now since someone decided to destroy it in 2006. Stopped for a beer at Ilfracombe. The pub is called Wellshot Hotel which is owned by Mat Scott's sister. Pity we aren't here for state of Origin next week. The pub will be rocking....Go Queensland
Roadworks between Longreach and Winton....Hope they don't hold us up. Lots of camels and emus along the road. Eventually arrived at Crawford Creek Free Camp. A hassle for camp site...not good to arrive late in the afternoon

Winton and then passing through Kynuna and stopping for a beer at McKinlay...Had a beer at Crocodile Dundee Pub...Walkabout Hotel.
Finally stopping at WW2Airfield Free Camp 50ks west of Mt Isa. Great spot. Finally warming up and no wind....very pleasant.
OMG ........ We can't believe Al forgot his wallet. Phil wants to know how you didn't know that you were 10 kgs lighter without it ??? That thing is a brick !!
